The National Environmental Organization said SaltLake City is a rising star in the development of solar energy, with the number of completed projects in Utah's capital increasing from a dozen in 2007 to hundreds in 2017. Saltlake City Council and the mayor had already passed a joint resolution in 2016 to achieve 100% renewable energy in 20 years.
